EKKLESIA
First in Greece and later in the Roman Empire, the ruler would send small groups of soldiers out into His kingdom to spread His ideas, thoughts, and culture. These small groups were called ekklesias; they carried the authority of the King and were charged with the responsibility to transform these areas of Rome to reflect the Kings ideas and ways.
Jesus later used this term ekklesia to describe the role of believers. When 2 or more believers are together, we are the church. We are the Ekklesia. We carry the authority of our King and we are charged with His mission:
To see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Ekklesias are call to bring transformation to all areas of society. These areas often called the seven spheres or the seven mountains and are to reflect God and His Kingdom.
